In the US study, the Pearl Index was 2.02 (95% CI [1.1, 3.4]) per 100 women-years of EnilloRing use. Study data indicate the return of ovulation and spontaneous menstrual cycles in most women within a month after discontinuation of EnilloRing use.

To achieve maximum contraceptive effectiveness, EnilloRing must be used as directed. One EnilloRing is inserted in the vagina. The ring is to remain in place continuously for three weeks. It is removed for a one-week break, during which a withdrawal bleed usually occurs. A new ring is inserted one week after the last ring was removed. Avoid using EnilloRing if you smoke and are over 35, have a history or high risk of blood clots, heart attack, or stroke, or have certain heart conditions or uncontrolled high blood pressure. It is also not recommended if you have a history of hormone-related cancer, liver issues, undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, certain types of migraines, diabetes with vascular complications, take specific hepatitis C medications, or are pregnant or breastfeeding.
