Product Details

Syeda® consists of 28 film-coated, tablets in the following order of 21 yellow tablets, each containing 3 mg drospirenone (DRSP) and 0.03 mg ethinyl estradiol (EE), and 7 inert white tablets. Take one tablet daily by mouth at the same time every day. Tablets must be taken in the order directed on the blister pack. Begin taking Syeda either on the first day of her menstrual period (Day 1 Start) or on the first Sunday after the onset of her menstrual period (Sunday Start). What to Expect

In clinical efficacy studies of up to 2 years duration, 2,629 subjects completed 33,160 cycles of use without any other contraception. Pregnancy rates in the clinical trials were less than one per 100 woman-years of use.

Stop Syeda® if an arterial thrombotic event or venous thromboembolic (VTE) event occurs. Stop Syeda if there is unexplained loss of vision, proptosis, diplopia, papilledema, or retinal vascular lesions. Evaluate for retinal vein thrombosis immediately. Syeda® is contraindicated in females over 35 years old who smoke. Advise the nursing mother to use other forms of contraception, when possible, until she has weaned her child. COCs can reduce milk production in breastfeeding mothers. This product (like all oral contraceptives) is intended to prevent pregnancy. It does not protect against HIV infection (AIDS) and other sexually transmitted diseases. Progestin drospirenone may increase potassium. Therefore, you should not take Syeda if you have kidney, liver or adrenal disease because this could cause serious heart and health problems.
