Progesterone Capsules (Generic PROMETRIUM®).
Product Details.
Progesterone capsules are used for the treatment of menstrual irregularities and for the protection of the endometrium (lining of the uterus). The addition of a progestin is generally recommended for women with a uterus to reduce the chance of getting cancer of the uterus (womb).
What to Expect.
Depending on your needs, your doctor will prescribe either a dose of 100mg or 200mg.
Progesterone capsules are to be taken at bedtime as some women become very drowsy and/or dizzy after taking progesterone capsules. In a few cases, symptoms may include blurred vision, difficulty speaking, difficulty walking and feeling abnormal. If you experience these symptoms, discuss them with your healthcare provider right away.
