Loryna® (Drospirenone and Ethinyl Estradiol Tablets, USP) (Generic Yaz®).
Product Details.
Loryna® (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol tablets, USP) is available in blister packs. Each blister pack (28 film-coated tablets) contains 24 peach tablets each containing 3 mg drospirenone (DRSP) and 0.02 mg ethinyl estradiol (EE) and 4 white inert tablets. Take one tablet by mouth at the same time every day. Begin taking Loryna tablets either on the first day of her menstrual period (Day 1 Start) or on the first Sunday after the onset of her menstrual period (Sunday Start).
To achieve maximum contraceptive and PMDD effectiveness, Loryna tablets must be taken exactly as directed, in the order directed on the blister pack. Single missed pills should be taken as soon as remembered.

What to Expect.
Based on the results of one clinical study, 1 to 2 women out of 100 women, may get pregnant during the first year they use Loryna. Your chance of getting pregnant depends on how well you follow the directions for taking your birth control pills. The better you follow the directions, the less chance you have of getting pregnant.
Safety Information.
Progestin drospirenone may increase potassium. Therefore, you should not take Loryna if you have kidney, liver or adrenal disease because this could cause serious heart and health problems. Loryna is contraindicated in females over 35 years old who smoke. Birth control pills do not protect you against any sexually transmitted disease, including HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. Women who use birth control pills with drospirenone (like Loryna) may have a higher risk of getting a blood clot.
