Product Details

Vienva® (levonorgestrel and ethinyl estradiol tablets, USP) is available in blister packs. Each blister pack (28 film-coated tablets) contains 21 white active tablets and 7 peach inert tablets. To achieve maximum contraceptive effectiveness, Vienva must be taken exactly as directed and at intervals not exceeding 24 hours. The dosage of Vienva is one white tablet daily for 21 consecutive days, followed by one peach inert tablet daily for 7 consecutive days, according to the prescribed schedule. What to Expect

In a clinical trial with levonorgestrel and ethinyl estradiol tablets, 1,477 subjects had 7,720 cycles of use and a total of 5 pregnancies were reported. This represents an overall pregnancy rate of 0.84 per 100 woman-years. This rate includes patients who did not take the drug correctly.

Stop Vienva® if an arterial thrombotic event or venous thromboembolic (VTE) event occurs. Stop Vienva if there is unexplained loss of vision, proptosis, diplopia, papilledema, or retinal vascular lesions. Evaluate for retinal vein thrombosis immediately. Vienva is contraindicated in females over 35 years old who smoke. You should not take the pill if you take any Hepatitis C drug combination containing ombitasvir/paritaprevir/ritonavir, with or without dasabuvir. This product (like all oral contraceptives) is intended to prevent pregnancy. It does not protect against HIV infection (AIDS) and other sexually transmitted diseases.
